PICK YOUR LINE

Some lines we ride. Others are carved into us.
The Story
Pick Your Line is a feature documentary about resilience, belonging, and chasing joy. After filmmaker Maria Petros is rescued by a complete stranger following a snowboarding accident, she sets out to make a film about the community that showed up for her. But as she asks her fellow "snowmies" one simple question—Why do you ride?—she realizes she has never truly answered it herself. Her search leads her back to a childhood shaped by hair loss, an alopecia diagnosis at sixteen, and a devastating mental health crisis that changed the course of her life. Snowboarding didn’t save Maria, but it gave her the freedom to be an athlete again without worrying about her appearance, becoming the one place where she feels most at peace. Through intimate verité, breathtaking mountain landscapes, and deeply personal archival footage, Pick Your Line explores how community, vulnerability, and shared passion can help us stop hiding, embrace who we are, and discover that the most meaningful lines we choose are the ones that lead us home.
